World Champion Parking!

This has nothing to do with sailing - other than I've seen boats parked much the same - but have a look at this video on YouTube . . . .

HBYC Oyster and Mussel Festival (and bubbly!) – SATURDAY 29th MAY

Remember to book your spot now, as numbers will be limited. Kindly advise the club office, bar or fill in form on notice board with details of those wishing to attend. Further details to follow, including time of event which is dependent upon that of the Super 14 Final – picture the scene; scoffing oysters and champagne while watching your favorite team playing the final – NOT TOO SHABBY IS IT?!

Knysna Webcam is back!

We have re-established the link to the Knysna Webcam. It was removed at one stage by a general request on the site - that other sites dont link to it. However this was subsequently clarified to say that linking to the site itself is encouraged, but linking directly to the picture to bypass the advertising was not allowed. Anyway - its a great site. It was established to show visiting boats the state of play in the heads, to avoid incessant calls to the volunteers that advise by radio and phone.

This is the state of the heads as at about 16:45 on Wed. Would you go through?

Find the link on the "site map" on the right hand side, or click here if you wish . . .

Winter Series 3

Winter series 3 was sailed on Sunday 2 May, in light but generally excellent conditions in the bay. We amanaged to squeeze in 2 races - Race 1 was won by Faraway, Megafreight 2nd, and Savannah 3rd. The second race was a fun race just between Megs and Faraway, with Megs taking a convincing lead in the second race.  What a brilliant weekend after the bike ride as well . . . . the marina boat has a nice new pair (of engines) and we used it as a committee boat. Peter R brought some good refreshments and we had a great time officiating the race - in future races this may be the place to be . . .

The Beast!

Jeremy and team have done it again! "The Beast" was a great success with twenty bikes turning up for the ride, including breakfast and the spit-braai! There were huge tourers, choppers, cruisers, delivery bikes, large offroaders, and even a few scooters, including Peter Roeloffzes three Vespas! What a procession! The tour included a few stops for refreshments in a dodgy establishment in Kommetjie (befitting these dodgy looking bikers), and also a stop in Noordhoek at "The Toad". No accidents reported, no protests and no requests for redress.  . . . makes you think doesnt it! I hope we have another one soon!

Thanks to Janet for the pics. See the rest here.
